STORY
The following is a pictoral chronicle of the Jan 27th event at the Open House Gallery:
After having processed one by one down a flight of stairs into a cape worn by a 12' tall model, 2 models open the enormous cape to the audience to expose a human sculpture.
Models initially begin in stiff, expected poses.
The audience then moves around the models trying to understand what is happening.
Then the models finally begin to interact and act upon their subconscious......
....almost creating an engaging, asexual orgy.
The models randomly begin to pull apart each other's artwork.
Baldcaps, origami, diamonds, everything rapidly begins to fall to the ground.
The unsuspecting audience claps and roars over what is happening in front of them.
Then two of the models retrieve the cloak that was removed in the beginning.......
....and begin to encapsulate the deteriorated sculpture.
The audience is bewildered. The human sculpture is moving under the cape......
.....as if something was about to explode.
One by one the models process out of the womb of the sculpture.....
...as if one were attending a funeral or a lost tribe in Afghanistan.
The main/center of the sculpture is the last to ascend the stairs and exit the gallery space. The audience once again applauds being left to contemplate remnant emotions and deteriorated artwork on the ground.

ON JANUARY 27TH, 2008 an homage to the Surrealist Period was realized through body art in front of a live audience at OPEN HOUSE GALLERY in Soho, New York City. Surrealism is an artistic movement of the 1920's as explained here in Wikipedia.
It all began when the producers of BRAVO network approached beauty engineer Mary Schook and asked her to paint 12 models for an episode of a new reality series, Make Me A Supermodel, that would air on January 31st, 2008.
Even though time and medium would be a challenge, Mary accepted the project knowing she would be supported by an incredible makeup team sponsored by Make Up For Ever.
As with all editing, what the viewers saw and what the participants experienced were two entirely different things.
This is a photo chronicle of our experience.
